Privacy
This policy explains what personal information Aurtide collects through aurtide.ca, why, and how you can control it. It follows Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
- Your brief and messages: what you type into the brief, the Let's talk form or a call request: business name, your name, phone or email, your answers and message, and the page you sent it from.
- The free website check: the website address you enter and its results. We send that address to Google's PageSpeed Insights service to run the test.
- Server logs: our web host records basic technical information (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) to keep the site secure. To limit abuse of our forms, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to one hour.
- Your device: your choice on the cookie notice is remembered in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
This site does not currently load analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics, the notice on the site asks first and nothing loads until you agree. The contact page shows a Google Map, which Google may set its own cookies for.
Why we collect it
To reply to your brief or message, scope and quote your project, run the website check you asked for, and keep this site working and secure. We don't sell or rent personal information.
Consent and marketing messages
By sending a brief or message, you agree to us contacting you about it. We only send marketing emails or texts if you tick the optional consent box, which is never ticked for you. We record when you gave consent and the wording you agreed to. Every marketing message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe, as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Where it's stored and who sees it
Briefs and messages are stored on our web hosting account and sent to our business email. Only the Aurtide team can see them. Some of our service providers (web hosting, email, Google PageSpeed Insights, and Google Maps on the contact page) may store or process information outside Canada, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We choose providers with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep briefs and messages for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client, in which case we keep project records for as long as the law requires. Website check results are kept for 12 hours.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email hello@aurtide.ca, and we'll reply within 30 days.
